Wes & Walker

Earlier today, Wes & Walker welcomed in Mike DeCourcy, college basketball writer for The Sporting News and bracketologist for FOX Sports, to discuss Duke’s strength of schedule concerns, Wake’s tournament chances and the ACC basketball standing as a whole, including why he believes that the conference has put themselves in a tough spot because off […]

NBA Front Office Insider for ESPN, Bobby Marks joined Wes & Walker to explain why the Mark Williams trade was rescinded and how the Hornets can move forward with the situation. There has been a lot of shock and confusion from Hornets fans since seeing the news that the trade between the Hornets and Lakers […]

After back-to-back promising close losses, the Panthers returned to their early season form on Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys thoroughly handled them in Bank of America Stadium after they entered the game as a favorite for the first time since late 2022. Among those who struggled was quarterback Bryce Young, who turned the ball over […]

Out of nowhere on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN announced that the Panthers had agreed to a deal to trade wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens along with a 6th-round Pick in exchange for a 2025 5th-round Pick. While the team had been having conversations with teams over the past couple of weeks […]

Wes & Walker react to an article saying that the Panthers lost too many key pieces and will be a bottom-five defense this season. Walker believes that the Panthers won’t miss that much production from players who departed like Burns, Luvu, and YGM. While the defense may regress a little bit, saying that the Panthers […]

Wes & Walker debate if the Panthers signing Jadeveon Clowney to a two-year “prove-it” deal was a smart move for the team. Does the pass rusher still have gas in the tank and will he be able to replace the productivity of Brian Burns? Wes believes that Clowney wants to continue playing after his two-year […]

In today's college athletics, there isn't much of an off-season for major sports like football and basketball, which makes for a busy spring on and off the field. For Charlotte, while they failed to make the NCAA Tournament, they've been busy trying to rebuild their roster for 2024-25. Biff Poggi completed his second spring, as Charlotte's head football coach, as he looks to guide the 49ers to their second-ever bowl appearance, and Charlotte softball made the NCAA Tournament, after winning the American Conference tournament, their first season in the conference.

When you don't have a baseball team, and your NBA team isn't playing deep into the postseason, the late spring, and early summer months can be lean for a sports radio host, or even a sports columnist. Except in Charlotte, where there always seems to be something worth writing, or talking about, going on. This week hasn't been any different, with the Panthers taking the field for the start of OTAs, the 65th running of the Coca-Cola 600 is this Sunday, and that's right, Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is in the news again, this time facing a lawsuit, after allegedly running over an 11 year old's foot.

Last week, the ACC held its annual spring meetings at Amelia Island, with both football and basketball entrenched in their respective off-seasons. There was a lot to talk about, considering that two schools, Clemson and Florida State are actively suing the league, as they are seeking an exit from the conference, which overshadows the league not getting the respect they want on the playing field, after FSU was left out of the College Football Playoff, and schools like Wake Forest and Pittsburgh were left out of the NCAA Tournament.Â
