The first weekend of the NCAA Tournament didn’t see any Cinderella taking the country by storm as it was the usual suspects making the Sweet 16. Former Horizon League Coach of the Year turned ESPN College Basketball Recruiting Analyst Paul Biancardi joined Kyle Bailey to give his 2 cents on the opening weekend.

One of the first topics broached with Paul involved the lack of upsets in the opening weekend as Paul said it didn’t take away from the quality of the games, but in this new era of NIL it’s harder for Mid-Major teams to make runs with key players getting plucked by some of the power schools after certain players play just two years at a mid-major which Paul thinks played somewhat of a factor in the lack of upsets in the tournament, and it could continue to be a problem moving forward.

Paul would also go on to break down what Duke needs to do to make San Antonio, and what he makes of Will Wade leading the Wolfpack in Raleigh.
