The Tar Heels will look slightly different heading into the 2024 season as Drake Maye is now in the NFL, but Mack Brown still has high hopes for the Heels as the HOF coach joined Kyle Bailey to preview the upcoming season for the Heels.
One of the first things Mack discussed with Kyle is the ongoing battle to be the starting QB for the Heels he said that the Heels are lucky to have 3 guys that can be the starter (Max Johnson, Conner Harrill & Jacolby Criswell) but it’s hard to get a true grasp because of only having so little reps. Mack also mentioned that Criswell has been behind since he transferred late in the game so it seems like more of a battle between Johnson and Harrill right now.
Mack would also go on to discuss trying not to overwork RB Omarion Hampton, and the idea of the ACC having their version of Paul Finebaum.
